Filippo, Good morning. So - first off there is no external ability to set the speed of the ServoCAT. It is fixed.... (with the exception of external devices controlling the 'rate' command - which is what I want to try to utilize, but no one is doing that - yet). It is what you programmed as SLEW, JOG, GUIDE and whether or not Speed 1/2 is set to 1 or 2 (and for most even that won't change it as most don't bother to program Speed2 settings differently). Also the only way for something external to control GOTO's is by using the PC Port vis a vis planetarium commands. That is simply a "GOTO" command and has not speed component. The speed, again, will be what is set internally AND what the HC is set to. So if you have SLEW or GUIDE selected it will be at the programmed SLEW rate ... if you have JOG selected it will be at the JOG rate.?
The parameters can be read by an external device - the protocol exists to do this (put in place to allow SCU to work but can be used by others). So the external control software can know what it is...?
Since SharpCap is mentioned often AND since it appears the designer is willing, maybe even happy to work with others on adding functionality - I'll approach him to see what we can get done/added.?
I had zero response from the INDI site. The one US "core developer" responded to my request for assistance by saying, simply and only, "I've no idea, I've not worked on it for a very long time". So I guess that's a strike out on that front.?
