Locked Correct Mirrors

List ,
I have a set of nos mirrors that I THOUGHT SURE were nos r90s ,as they
matched my S mirrors. I now think mine are incorrect.I just checked the CD
and the p/n for the no. 2 mirror choice is missing, does any one know what
this no(s). is?
Is it 51 161 240 024 which is what I have?
Thanks
Bruce

Bruce: I don't know if this helps you but the mirror stalks (actually the
tube on which the mirror sits is painted copper tubing) for the '74 is a
little different than later years. The '74 style is curved whereas the later
ones were straight.
Can't help you with the part number, sorry.

Best,

Bruce:

FWIW, I bought new mirrors for my 76 a year ago. The part #'s were
51-16-1-236-025 (left) and -026 (right). Hammersley's price then was $30.76
each.
They fit fine.

Troy,
thanks for the info. I think the ones I have 51161-240-024 (-023) may be
different P/N's but they appear to be the same style and design that were
used on the S. models. Has BMW used the same part(s) in the past on multiple
bikes ,but changed the P/N 's to reflect a different model ? I suspect so.
....Same part, but different P/N's depending on some grand manufacturing
scheme.

Ron, for what its worth, the '74 models only came in Silver Smoke. For "75
and '76, either Silver Smoke or Daytona Orange. Both are beautiful and you
can be sure that if re-painted correctly, you will spend quite a bit of time
conversing with other enthusiasts that are taken back by its beauty.
