I have some side connect female ends I can send you today. The gauge size should work
although it looks small. I tried it on the end of a /5 and 1974 blinker switch wire and it was perfect. These terminals are difficult to squeeze because the crimp part is ¡°on top¡± of the?
connector, not hanging off the side. Send me your address and I¡¯ll stick some in an envelope.

?Scott,
Thanks, it helps considerably. I was questioning my plan on the repair. I¡¯m not having any luck sourcing the female spade connectors. I¡¯m hoping to find ones that are the same with the side connection. The local hardware stores only have the female connectors that the wire feeds straight in rather than sideways. Where might I find them?
Also, was this the original set-up on 76 models? Where the clutch switch goes into the headlight shell where in later models in connects outside the shell?
Thanks!
Peter
