Bike sat for 1.5 year
Stored with Ethanol gas and Stabil
Bike ran prior to storage
Bike would not idle when brought out of storage. Assumed bad fuel which was removed.
Removed carbs and rebuilt them using BevelHeaven rebuild instructions. This included stripping carbs, cleaning and rebuilding with new gaskets and orings.
No jets or needles were replaced.
Floats tested and float level checked
New choke plunger and springs installed.
New choke cables installed
Carbs idle air regulating screw set to 1.5 turns out.
Carbs installed
Adjusted slide screw to just touching the slide using the sound method.
Bike starts and revs smoothly, but will not idle.
Checked for air leaks using carb cleaner. None found
Adjusting idle air screw or slide screw seems to have no affect on idle speed.
Removed carbs and recleaned using Bevel Heaven guide. Verified idle jet was not clogged.
Replaced carbs. Still no idle.
Checked points gap was correct
Checked that valve lash was correct.
Still no idle with throttle closed.
As I¡¯m writing this I wonder if the choke assembly is somehow causing the issue?
