There were three different R90/S tank badges. One was the thin badge most commonly seen on the /6. The other two were enamel applied to a nickel base. The difference between them is the hight of the convex. The height of the convex, on the enameled badges still available through BMW and elsewhere, is too great to sit properly on my '75's tank.
?The badges
on the ends are available through BMW. The center badge is from my ¡¯75 R09/S. Please notice the relative heights of each badge.??

The '75s do not have unique roundels. And has been said, some R90Ss came with enamel some not. Further, there was a rumor a while back that all R90Ss had enamel emblems, which is also not true.

Yesterday while cleaning my '75 R90/S I noticed the tank roundels were starting to show their age When I searched for replacements both the local BMW dealer and Bob's BMW tell me the '75's have unique roundels and they are no longer available. Does anyone know where I can get correct replacements?
