The Australian dollar has, like the USA dollar, had a lot of inflation over the years.?? The inflation amount is different though.? Australia had a period of particularly high inflation.?? If the bike was re-issued and being sold today for the equivalent price, then Aus 3595, ¡..would be about Aus 65000 now¡.from a quick glance at:
I did not bother to look up the USA figure.
I have purchased a few new BMW Airheads (four, plus one with only 560 miles), and I think I paid 1450 USD for a brand-new R75/5 from a dealership¡. and about 5300 USD for a brand-new early eighties R100RT. Inflation is a big mixed bag.
For used bikes, especially rare and desirable models in good condition (let alone fully restored), the equivalent inflation rate is¡.´Ç°ù can be¡. monstrous.? I can't hardly believe what my old Vincents (I had eight, once upon a time) and my Brough, are worth now.? I'm not getting into the cost of restoration versus what you actually get when selling¡.±ç³Ü¾±³Ù±ð often the bike bites you, hard.
