You know the BMW emblems that are on the K12RS and the Cruiser, the sort of
raised three dimensional emblems?
Well I am told that these same emblems will fit on the older R and K bikes
as well, and if you compare how these new style emblems look on the bike
they look GREAT. Much better than the old original style, in my opinion
anyway.
I think Mac has raised a good point here. I don't mind changing things on
the bike that could be easily restored to original condition, such as
shocks, silencers and the like. And, I confess that I've been thinking of
powder-coating the frame, swing arm, etc. RED to match the pinstripe, but
I'd hesitate before actually doing that.
So, if the K12RS/K12C emblems look better, what's the harm in trying them
out. I much prefer a bike that's maintained as a rider, while upholding the
spirit of the model, rather than slavishly conforming to a
concours-original. Of course, if I owned as many R90S's as Mac does, I might
have some of each variation !!
