Re: Graphic view of the event in OW

Hello Hristo,

Yes, you are right ... in the last months it was less than 1 report per month :-)
But ... I start to have more automation ... so, why to stop before the "finish line" ?

Yesterday, I uploaded the report of my observation of Backlunda in SODIS.
It was necessary to upload 3 times while it was not the correct format for the D: and R: times. (D and R were missing for the time ... and without " ").

One of the first reason was to reduce as much as possible any typo error during the preparation or the report of the observation.
For the preparation ... I have now a good "result". No typing is needed from OccultWatcher to the observation with SharpCap.
If the mount has an acceptable polar alignment, then no need of a planetarium ... SharpCap with a Plate-Solve software are sufficient for finding the target star with a GOTO telescope.

In the past I noted the event time, the asteroid and the star name and sometimes the coordinates on a small paper and then I tried to find the star with the telescope outside with the Planetarium in Prism software.
If it was a UCAC star, then it was necessary to search a different name while I never achieved to find an UCAC in Prism software. Or to write the coordinates and do a GOTO to these coordinates.

Now with my script ... generate the event file with OccultWatcher in advance and open it in SharpCap before the observation ... and then make a GOTO and a Plate-Solve ... done!

For the instrumental delay ... OK, each observer has to know the delay of the setup. I use a QHY-174GPS camera ... so, I have not too much to take in account.

For additional token ... OK, forget the station coordinates, but please think about to add the asteroid magnitude.
Today I calculate the asteroid magnitude back from the star and magnitude drop. That is not ideal when the magnitude drop is very small.

Regards,
Jean-Francois
