I have removed the secondary mirror from it holder on my Starmaster without removing the holder from the spider. It is not hard.? The screws that hold the mirror in come out. I do suggest wearing gloves.? It is very easy to get figure prints on your secondary mirror.

Hi, I wonder if anyone can help, please? I think that the Dew-Guard pads to the back of my secondary mirror on my 20" f/4 classic Obsession have come loose as it no longer seems to come on in use unless I hold the sensor between my fingers.? It's nothing to do with the battery.? On one occasion the mirror fell out, fortunately not when the OTA was in place and I pushed it back into the sleeve but suspect that the connections to the Dew Guard have become detached. My question is: how do I remove the secondary mirror properly and safely from the metal sleeve / holder? I can see some screws that may open up the cylindrical sleeve, but am not sure I should touch these.
