The Penn Central deserves a little love in our survey of railroads by state and Tom Nelligan's photo of a pair of ex-New Haven units on a short freight at Warwick, Rhode Island will be or example of railroading in America's smallest state.
Eureka County, Nevada, where we camp at Palisade, is larger in area that Rhode Island and and Delaware put together...and has less than 1 person per 2 square miles. Rhode Island is small but has more people than some other states.
