In June 2016, I took a Capitol west from Roseville and saw how much work has been done on the new McKinley Village development between the UP Martinez Sub and Business 80 freeway in Sacramento, near Elvas.?
On 3 July 2016, I took the dogs for walk and checked it out. An underpass is being built near Elvas junction, requiring temporary realignment of some tracks, and buildings are under construction in the new development. I planned my trip trip to see #6 come through and I was pleasantly surprised to see heritage P42 156 as second unit on the train. It had led the Zephyr in June 2016 when Anne and I went to Truckee.?
In 2022, McKinley Village is completely built with dozens of new houses and several parks between the freeway and railroad.
