Count me in from Thursday through

I have a sling shot with fishing
line attached putting wires in trees.
The schedule form has been completed

[n4n_field_day] Time for a head count
We've got several things in the mill
for Field Day that require some information on who will be at the site
when.? We want to put together a schedule for operators (based on requests
from last year), but we also need to find out: (1)?if we will have the
critical mass we need for putting up towers on Friday evening/Saturday morning
and taking towers down on Sunday; (2) How many we will have on-site from about
12:00-2:00pm Saturday for the (weather-permitting) first ever N4N kick-off
barbecue; (3) How many we will have for dinner Saturday and lunch Sunday.?
So, if you could, please let me know
as soon as you can when you plan to be at the site.? Bring along a friend,
the XYL, or the kids if you'd like (let us know so we'll have food).? Any
extra help we can get for Friday evening or Sunday afternoon would really be
great!
To give you an idea of what's going
on here's a basic schedule:
9:00am Thursday:? Arrive at
site and begin setup of RV, tents, tables/chairs, computer network, generators
and AC distribution, and basically everything but stations and antennas (KE4UW,
KN6RO, and KT4XN so far)
Thursday evening:? Relax and
enjoy a cool one
Friday
morning:????? Continue setup of camp as needed, test
computer network, etc
Friday
2:00pm:???????Begin assembly of antennas and
towers, hang wire antennas, setup?stations, test rig/computer interfaces,
etc.
Friday
evening:???????Raise as many towers as
possible (need at least 8 people to do this safely), copy ARRL bulletin, dinner
at the catfish restaurant in Hiram.
Saturday morning:??
Complete any station setup or tower erection, test for interference among
stations (if not done Friday), troubleshoot any problems
Saturday
noon:?????? Picnic lunch (weather permitting),
brief indoctrination for operators, primer on Writelog.
Saturday 2:00pm:?? Field
Day operation begins!
Saturday evening:?? Pizza
dinner (delivery, if possible)
Sunday 2:00 pm:???
Field Day operation ceases.? Barbecue lunch and gathering of good
ideas?for next year.
Sunday 2:30 pm:???
Dissambly of antennas and towers, packing and cleanup
So, choose your activities, arrange
the hall passes, and please let me know as soon as possible when you plan to be
there.? If you have preference for bands/modes you do or don't want to
operate, let me know that and we'll accommodate those as well.

I would like to look over everybody's shoulder at some time to see how this
satellite stuff works.? My goals for Field Day include learning how to
operate through the satellites(Elmer is Robin), learning how to pass messages
on the ARRL circuit (Elmer is KF4JVD), and learning how PSK-31 works (Elmer is
KN6RO).
yes.. possibly...
wouldl like to see Robin operate with his dish and
compare it to mine with the UEK-3000
I
installed all of the optional filters, TCXO and DSP units, along with the

seems to test just fine..

The plan is for Robin AA4RC to have a satellite station and he
hopes to make QSOs by the dozen, not just one for the bonus

he'll be there with the satellite setup.

Hey
gang!
?
We've
got several things in the mill for Field Day that require some
information on who will be at the site when.? We want to put
together a schedule for operators (based on requests from last
year), but we also need to find out: (1)?if we will have the
critical mass we need for putting up towers on Friday
evening/Saturday morning and taking towers down on Sunday; (2) How
many we will have on-site from about 12:00-2:00pm Saturday for the
(weather-permitting) first ever N4N kick-off barbecue; (3) How many
we will have for dinner Saturday and lunch Sunday.?
?
So, if
you could, please let me know as soon as you can when you plan to be
at the site.? Bring along a friend, the XYL, or the kids if
you'd like (let us know so we'll have food).? Any extra help we
can get for Friday evening or Sunday afternoon would really be
great!
?
To give
you an idea of what's going on here's a basic
schedule:
?
9:00am
Thursday:? Arrive at site and begin setup of RV, tents,
tables/chairs, computer network, generators and AC distribution, and
basically everything but stations and antennas (KE4UW, KN6RO, and
KT4XN so far)
?
Thursday
evening:? Relax and enjoy a cool one
?
Friday
morning:????? Continue setup of camp as
needed, test computer network, etc
?
Friday
2:00pm:???????Begin assembly of
antennas and towers, hang wire antennas, setup?stations, test
rig/computer interfaces, etc.
?
Friday
evening:???????Raise as many
towers as possible (need at least 8 people to do this safely), copy
ARRL bulletin, dinner at the catfish restaurant in
Hiram.
?
Saturday
morning:?? Complete any station setup or tower erection,
test for interference among stations (if not done Friday),
troubleshoot any problems
?
Saturday
noon:?????? Picnic lunch (weather
permitting), brief indoctrination for operators, primer on
Writelog.
?
Saturday
2:00pm:?? Field Day operation begins!
?
Saturday
evening:?? Pizza dinner (delivery, if
possible)
?
Sunday
2:00 pm:??? Field Day operation ceases.?
Barbecue lunch and gathering of good ideas?for next
year.
?
Sunday
2:30 pm:??? Dissambly of antennas and towers, packing
and cleanup
?
?
So,
choose your activities, arrange the hall passes, and please let me
know as soon as possible when you plan to be there.? If you
have preference for bands/modes you do or don't want to operate, let
me know that and we'll accommodate those as
well.
?
Think
Field Day!?

>> SAT station for Field Day.
FYI: I am still at zero with my SAT station to date...and withdraw all but "Moral Support"....in the setup of a first-class SAT station for Field Day. I'm sorry.
My intentions were to accumulate and assemble my SAT station pieces and parts...up to the rotor controller/interface/radio (which I think Robin already has). I wanted to use Field Day as the impetus to get everything purchased, tested and working. But I have made zero progress to date.
As background, when I heard Robin/Pieter had voluntered to do the FD SAT station, I thought it might be a good opportunity to get my own station going. Dunno what Robin's (and N4IP/Pieter's) original plan was -- maybe it's not too late to execute and complete that?
Or, as a fallback position, we can come-up with a list of what is required, then see what we can all pull together (minimal gear required) to work the SATs for FD?
BTW: we should run the pass prediction program (maybe Robin already has) and see what the passes are predicted to be for Field Day?
