Hi Howard is it possible to run 2 instances of HRI Visual Studio on one Win7 computer? I am presently using 2 computers to control an IC M710 and an IC M710RT with HRI Visual Studio. Thanks Tom KC1GTU

hi there! I have M710 and there are two serial out on back. I connect my pl2303 based usb to serial cable to the dsc out and run HRI software. I set the radio address as what is shown in the set menu of the transceiver then click to start. It seems everything is ok on the software side, but there is no “remote” message on the transceiver screen, and nothing changes when I try to change frequency on the software. I also tried with ch340 based usb to serial cable but no way. I use win10 64bit I need help. Best 73s de TA3LKU. Kaan

I just started tinkering with M710 and tried connecting it via RS232 cable to a laptop with RS232 connection. I changed the setting according to the manual and pressed start. It would start running and transmitting but there is no response. How can I know if the radio is actually transmitting/ "talking" to the PC? Did someone try using M710 with N3ZH? Can you guys walk me through it?

Howard, I am trying to make my SEA-235 radio work easier with digital modes. It is a marine receiver, follows very closely the nmea marine format but it has some differences, such as a different way to calculate the checksum and a more extensive command set. Would be interested to help with integration in HRI? Just to give you an idea where I am in the process, for Winlink, I created a python file that takes the Icom marine commands, replaces them with SEA commangs, recalculates the checksum, then outputs to SEA. The reverse for the status information. It works and it is neat but still a pain. For FLdigi, I started with the conversion of the IC802 command set but the Hamlib implementation is buggy and it breaks down. Next I took a stable Hamlib driver for a Kenwood amateur radio and translated that using python scripts. It is still a pain because amateur radios have a different approach to marine radios. For example, I have four AGC settings that I like to use on my radio, Kenwood supports only two and they are not like for like. I have a full description the the command set. What do you think? Hi everyone, I have given a try at soundcard digitalmodes. I have added MT63 to the Java version of Ham Radio Integrator. I have MARS in mind - that's why I chose to start with MT63. First I got an early version of the MT63 code from github written for Android devices. Next I looked at FLDIGI where a few changes had been made. I can't say that I understood the complicated complex mathematics, but it is a way to start learning about it. I consider this Alpha code. If anyone is interested in trying it, let me know. good day howerd. did you document what strings you send to the M710 for the each setting and what answer you expect ? would like to try and add them to hamlib. what is there does not work? if so, would you be willing to share and drop at j.ongersma@... regards jaap
