Intro etc.

Hi, I built my first N2PK VNA years ago. It was right around the time V5 came out. Paul was very helpful back then. I didn't realize it at the time but there was a close link in MyVNA with the N2PK VNA and the MSA. I have a complete set of MSA boards, nice from Osh in purple that someday I might get around to building, but seeing that I have about 5 spectrum analyzers, heck maybe 10, I doubt I'll ever do it.

Anyway, I haven't used my VNA in a while and thought I would take a look at a problem I have with a Dual Mixer Time Difference board. So last night when I couldn't get the driver to install, I thought I would check the group and post here. In the meantime, though, I found another set of USB install code and drivers (just the drivers, actually) and up it came on Win10. I used the code for the MSA, downloaded from . I just pointed the device manager at that directory and it loaded right up. I had tried previously changing the .inf files to match the device ID, but no luck.

So my much loved N2PK VNA is up. By the way, I started building a second VNA long ago and was using a much better clock that I had purchased, I think I bought like 20 of them on discount. The clock had a much tighter spec. I also wanted to use a better DDS chip and had kicked around the idea of tracing the commands and using like a 14bit AD9910 or an AD9954 quadrature DDS. This 2nd VNA never saw power but seeing how well the first one works after all these years, heck, I might just go finish it.

I wonder if my VNA pictures made the transition from the old group. I'll load them up if I get a minute. I had machine engraved the front panel.

Hope all is well.
