You should have received a mail from me some time ago which will allow you to access a folder in the cloud where we store our files.
There is an excel file called "Equipment and actions overview 5R8.xlsx" where we keep track on all the equipment and actions. Have a look.
In the sheet "contact list" you can add information about your contact at home if we need to call someone in an emergency situation.
In the equipment sheet Ron and I have put already most of the materials, but antenna's is still in progress.

Yes and we were thinking of coax cable and/or Hexbeam and mast. But this we can discuss further. ? I have also added a blue line in the sheet called “personal stuff”. Today I have get my visa from the embassy.
It was easy to get it. Only one week.

Ronald, ? I was planning to bring the SunSDR2PRO which is 20 Watts. For the SPE amplifier you need less than 10 Watts, so that is a good match. Only when the amplifier will be damaged, we would only have 20 Watts if also one of the K3’s is defect. How likely is that. I can also bring the SunSDR2DX which is 100 Watts, but a few more KGs. We can better judge when we have a more complete overview of all the materials and weight. If we need to take measures to reduce weight, we could decide to that a smaller/lighter spare transceiver. Perhaps we discuss this at a later stage. ? Gerben ?

Installing WSJTX 4 times in different directories and ready. Within N1MM it’s also easy, everybody get his own database. There was one mistake made by Artec which cannot been corrected: the call sign for Gerben will be: 5R8GW instead of 5R8CW. The other callsign will be: 5R8GW, 5R8MM and 5R8WP. I have send the proforma invoices to the radio club, now I have to wait for the bank details. It is approx. 35 Euro each. I will make the bank transfer otherwise we will have 4 time bank transaction costs. ? - We have made a one-drive to share files with each other. You will receive a joined request from Gerben.
All the license, passport files are there, but also some other files. There is also an Excel sheet with equipment and so on, look at it and update this will if needed. ? - Gerben and I have decided to use 2 Elecraft K3 instead of 1. The SDR radio is for spare.

If we take the ICOM as reserve, we need to find out if we can use the same cable/connectors as we have for the K3. I don’t know the ICOM so can’t judge it. I will bring the SunSDR2PRO anyhow. It is small and just a few KGs. So I leave the decision for the ICOM to the three of you. ? Each using his own laptop is fine for me. For CW that is simple but for FT8 (I have no experience there) you might have a configuration with the laptop sound card or so, which makes it more complicated perhaps. Can’t judge or advise. ? I have seen that i have get 5r8wg.
Each from us have your one call. I think IT is easyer If We use also the owne Laptop.?
Wsjtx is only one log. Thats difficult for Check the Log by 2 calls or more in the same Log.
When we have 2 k3 it IT is not nessesary to Bring my ICOM with me. Or?
In September i can Take some antenna parts maybe one dx Commander and some Pipes.

A short update.
?
- Yesterday I have send the license request to Artec. Today I have received the proforma invoices.
There was one mistake made by Artec which cannot been corrected: the call sign for Gerben will be: 5R8GW instead of 5R8CW.
The other callsign will be: 5R8GW, 5R8MM and 5R8WP.
I have send the proforma invoices to the radio club, now I have to wait for the bank details. It is approx. 35 Euro each. I will make the bank transfer otherwise we will have 4 time bank transaction costs.

- We have made a one-drive to share files with each other. You will receive a joined request from Gerben.
All the license, passport files are there, but also some other files.
There is also an Excel sheet with equipment and so on, look at it and update this will if needed.

- Gerben and I have decided to use 2 Elecraft K3 instead of 1. The SDR radio is for spare.
?
- Martin PA4WM confirmed me to use his 160m vertical (which will be used also on Swains).
We only need radials for this antenna.
?
- The main laptops will be from Gerben and my. These have US keyboards. We will bring external US keyboards and mouse also. Maybe we can use also an external German keyboard?
?
- Headsets; maybe it’s the best everybody bring his own headset. Especially if we use K3 radio’s. A default Heil headset will work.
We have 3.5 inch stereo connector for headset and a 3.5 inch mono connector for microphone.
(If you have a Heil microphone with a dynamic element (for Icom), this will not work with an Elecraft radio).

- This week I will start unpacking the Swains boxes to see what equipment, cables and so on, I have for 5R8 and start updating the Excel sheet.
?
- During our DXpedition time, also the Russians are active from TY.
?
Gerben and I have our eVisa for 5R8, we have to pay at customs at the airport.
