Hello

I have seen that i have get 5r8wg.
Each from us have your one call. I think IT is easyer If We use also the owne Laptop.?
Wsjtx is only one log. Thats difficult for Check the Log by 2 calls or more in the same Log.
When we have 2 k3 it IT is not nessesary to Bring my ICOM with me. Or?
In September i can Take some antenna parts maybe one dx Commander and some Pipes.

A short update.

?

  • Yesterday I have send the license request to Artec. Today I have received the proforma invoices.

There was one mistake made by Artec which cannot been corrected: the call sign for Gerben will be: 5R8GW instead of 5R8CW.

The other callsign will be: 5R8GW, 5R8MM and 5R8WP.

I have send the proforma invoices to the radio club, now I have to wait for the bank details. It is approx. 35 Euro each. I will make the bank transfer otherwise we will have 4 time bank transaction costs.

  • We have made a one-drive to share files with each other. You will receive a joined request from Gerben.

All the license, passport files are there, but also some other files.

There is also an Excel sheet with equipment and so on, look at it and update this will if needed.

  • Gerben and I have decided to use 2 Elecraft K3 instead of 1. The SDR radio is for spare.

?

  • Martin PA4WM confirmed me to use his 160m vertical (which will be used also on Swains).

We only need radials for this antenna.

?

  • The main laptops will be from Gerben and my. These have US keyboards. We will bring external US keyboards and mouse also. Maybe we can use also an external German keyboard?

?

  • Headsets; maybe it¡¯s the best everybody bring his own headset. Especially if we use K3 radio¡¯s. A default Heil headset will work.

We have 3.5 inch stereo connector for headset and a 3.5 inch mono connector for microphone.

(If you have a Heil microphone with a dynamic element (for Icom), this will not work with an Elecraft radio).

  • This week I will start unpacking the Swains boxes to see what equipment, cables and so on, I have for 5R8 and start updating the Excel sheet.

  • During our DXpedition time, also the Russians are active from TY.

  • Visa

Gerben and I have our eVisa for 5R8, we have to pay at customs at the airport.

?

  • Vaccinations

Please check if you have all vaccinations for Madagascar including Covid-19. (I have also 2 boosters).

We need a PCR test also, and I have read that we have to test also at the airport.
