HI Stein,
Overhead lines where completely removed. They under-grounded the
power all the way up the driveway to the pedestal and then onward
to my farm shop. Our house was only out of power for 1/2 hour ...
the farm shop and my printing building was without power for 7
hours.? I went out and mowed my lawn during that time. It seemed
like the right thing to do.

Drilling
horizontally is certainly a lot less disruptive than digging
a trench.? How long were you without power during the
switchover?? I take it you still have overhead lines up to
the point where the power pedestal is buried?? Did you lose
your yard light in the process?
?

I'm open to live streaming or I can drive over ... either
way.
From what the maps look like, I think Cliff and Stein would
be most impacted? by the weather.
We got a puff of wind a couple of Sunday's ago and it broke
the power pole on the farm off. Alliant Energy decided to bury
power to our farm rather than replace the overhead pole ...
You can see pictures of this here: Replacing
overhead power with buried power
