The only problem with not removing ACPI, and trying some or all of the
other fixes, is that if you end up HAVING to remove the ACPI afterwards,
you will have to go back and do all of the other stuff again, as it will
get reset to defaults after removing the ACPI.
I had this happen to me, and it is a real pain in the butt.

motherboards need it for some drivers. All my computers are ACPI and no
