i have one and am getting a very strong signal. i have no idea why it is so slow and unless i really need it at some point i really don't care.? i have a long range wifi thing at the house but it points to our cabin about a half mile away and is very directional. the signal i am getting is from a range extender at the closest part of the house from the shop. at the shop i have an amplified directional radio.
i hate network stuff, it seems to have so many random components and little accurate documentation. I am on the network getting a V$ Ip address from the router and I can connect via Team viewer but I have "no internet" i turned virtually every service to manual or automatic and still no internet.
If i get internet I am most likely to turn it off anyway but his is just bugging me.
I have an almost identical computer as a backup and it has built in WIFI and will probably work but then I have the problem of switching Mach4 license to it and for some reason I just can't seem to register it. Maybe not being the weekend the shitty satellite will cooperate and not make me try 10 times to get to a secure page.
Any hints on how to quickly register? I got a welcome email with a license file made in response to my computer ID number but can not find that email anymore although I do have the file and know what email address I used but the system does not see me when I try to register with that email address. It is exasperating to do this because what would take 2 minutes on any other internet connection can be 45 minutes of frustration.

Hmm, 400ft could be a challenge for WiFi.
Maybe you can arrange a gain antenna at one end...

i need to figure out what i did with the wifi radio that as in the
computer before i took it out or can probably find something else in
some junk box :) not sure if the little wifi dongles will reach the
router in the house, the workshop is about 400 feet away. will give it a
try.

If both PCs are on your internal network, have you considered using
VNC to access the
workshop PC from the house? I use TightVNC to access various
computers from my main
PC and it works pretty well. There is even a version that runs on an
Android phone if you
want to check the workshop PC remotely without firing up the house PC.

I have a license on the shop machine. I just want to use mill wizard in
the house but can not figure out how to do that. I have internet from
Viasat and it is unbelievably? fucked up. Ability to connect to secure
sites changes from hour to hour. I tried to create an account using my
welcome email link so I could add another computer to the license but
after about an hour gave up.
All I want to do is use Mill Wizard in the house I am not trying to get
anything for nothing. I used CamBam instead for which I also have a
license and got the job done but MW would have been faster.

Yes, that is correct. You can generate a JOB file, which saves all
your operations and input values. You can then load the job file on a
system with a license and generate gcode with it.
Depending on how you prefer to work you can put the licensee on your
desk machine and do all your design there, then take the gcode to the
shop. You can also do your design and see the resulting graphic, save
the job file and do the gcode on the machine in your shop.
We tried to make it flexible, give you a nice demo version, but still
restrict it so you would buy a license. We were not doing software for
charity, as I assume you don't give away your work.

if i run millwizard without a license it does not let me see or save
