Yeah, might as well join the Linux forums. ? Your question gets ignored, then if someone does try to answer it a bunch of whiny little man-baby¡¯s turn up to complain about, well, I¡¯ve no idea what their problem is.? Their periods must have synced up or something. ? Tony ? ?

At least Tony answered the OP, with some pretty good info. ? This site is pretty much useless at getting any info from the Mach folks-Brian drops by occasionally, but even that is not consistent. ? ? ? ...have to wonder if your not even using MACHx any longer why stay here and add little to the conversations? (only trash the asset) I have well over 1,000 runtime hrs under MACH3 on my big a__ router table and Lathe/mill (combined time) Yes I've written many macros and redesigned some screens. I've never had a crash or issue with any machine. ..am still running under XP even. All hardware is cobbled home brew and works as expected. As to the old files.... If you are clueless to Win ops...yes perhaps convoluted. But not an issue with a little google look up. ptegler what do you use instead of mach? Hell, I remember when MRUs became the big new thing, lol. ? People only care when you don¡¯t want your wife to see the ¡°special interest¡± videos you¡¯ve been watching, she may ask about your sudden interest in basket weaving. ? Not surprised the MRU isn¡¯t in the registry, the Mach dev are still living in the DOS days.? Given that as before take a rummage thru the Mach4 folder, there will be some sort of setting files (,ini, .dat?) that has the list.? The modified date should be recent as it¡¯ll be edited every time you fire up Mach4.? Whether you can write a little script to modify that, who knows. ? Wouldn¡¯t surprise me if it¡¯s tacked onto the machine settings file. ? File a request with the Mach devs, nothing will happen but anyway. ? Tony ? ? ? ? and why is this a well kept secret? the recent files list is bullshit without the ability to edit it. right clicking does nothing nor can i find the files in the registry. it i a severe lack to not allow users to get rid of this garbage if they want to. i understand the fat that some people might want to keep files from external sources in the list but what about those who want to get rid of the garbage. there has to be a way to get rid of this or clear the whole cache. I very much doubt Mach4 does this, If the list does wind up in the registry, what you can do is delete all of the files, then save the Key (registry folder) to a file (will have a reg extension).? If you then open that file in the future it will ask if you want to replace the current Key with it, thus clearing the list. Oh, and before I said to search for 'Values' in the registry, should have said 'Data'. ? what is this "occasional program" and where do i get it? On 10/20/2021 2:42 PM, Tony Smith wrote: It's called an MRU (Most Recently Used) list, and is typically stored in the Windows registry. Of course given the Mach devs don't have much of a clue about where you are supposed to put stuff (C;\Mach4? Sure!), their list could be anywhere, but probably in the install folder where they?dump everything else. Use regedit to search for one of the files on the list, it can search for 3 types of things so just leave 'Value' ticked.? Try a partial match as well.? This will be a bit slow as Values aren't indexed.. The reasons why no-one clears out the list is because it wastes time, and the files may only be temporarily unavailable (different flash drive, network drive etc) so wiping the 'dead' ones will annoy a different bunch of people.? There is the occasional program that'll let you clear the list, not all that common. ? i wrote before with no reply. Mach four maintains a recent fiels list but there is no wa to get rid of old files. this make a logn useless list of current files mixed with a bunch of old deleted stuff. makes it a pain to choose the right file. easier to have a working folder and do the management yourself, where is this list found and can it be edited? or better yet why cant mach4 automatically delete files that are nor found ?
