Mr Magoo

Dear All,
About 10 days after the covid vaccine, I got 'flu like symptoms, confusion & lost my glasses. I could only see 6 " for about 14 days. Thank Goodness I got the new glasses just now. My vision is pretty much perfect, but there is a perspective shift, so I'll stay indoors for 24 hrs.

My husband had first Astra Zeneca jab this morning. Surgery rang to offer me but then when told I’m just home ?from surgery they said no I couldn’t have one. Didn’t intend to anyway.?

As I’m still in recovery from surgery I hardly approve of the timing in case he gets sick. I’m not recovering as fast as I expected. Could be being tough on myself- brain is on cylinders just can’t get out of my own way :-)?

Saw GP to check in post surgery and he said why are you here!! Scuse me says she with cut throat.?

Anyway he was no help so googled meds tossed out the ones I thought were giving me cold sweats and pain and kept important ones.

Told surgeon what I’d done and he was good with that. Seeing him for ultrasound view of repair 5th May - then I’m free!

Planning on looking at iPad Pro 30th Apr Chermside in Brisbane.?

I'll check when I'm up to it, but if I recall correctly Pfizer BioNTech has least side effects. What I get a lot of (not always) is
"I'm the Dr your the patient, so I'm right your wrong"
Which would be OK but they're MB ChB's with 5 years of training. It's a courtesy title in the UK.
I've got a BSc best of year, an MSc, a PhD & a NIH postdoctoral fellowship. Was due to get glasses yesterday but had 2 seizures.

Dear Jude,
Not perfect here did a preliminary search. Pfizer BioNTech vaccine has the least side effects. In particular the later B2 version. The sample size is small, as you can see, so the statistical significance is not great. No one can force you into it. Certainly not me, BUT if you are going to go for a vaccine this is the one I would pick for you. It may take some cajoling of your GP, it has to be stored in dry ice until the day of use, so is more expensive, but from what you've said of your surgeon I'm sure he can do it.
HTH, hugs to you & Peter
John

That must have been very inconvenient, John. ?Glad you’re back in the land of the seeing.

Sounds like good news, overal, Jude.

I fancy both the iPad Pro and the Air. ?There’s about ?50 difference in price, although the Air comes with 256Gb while the Pro has 128Gb, I think.

I rather like the iMac as well . . .

Thanks John but no thanks. Won’t give me vaccine on top of surgery but wasn’t planning to anyway as too many allergic reactions.?

I have spoken to my surgeon and told him I googled meds and dumped ones I thought were causing me problems but kept the one relating to stopping platelets gathering at op site and small aspirin and he was good with all that. It’s made huge difference to how I am recovering now.?

Husband had a headache last night following jab ?and was slightly sniffly this morning. No sympathy. I did say I thought timing would be bad if he got sick from this jab and I’m not quite up to being a my old cooking maniac self.?

I am considering an iWatch following my 2 nights in ICU and drama that went on. I really can’t take those auto pressure cuffs and I see that as a possible alternative. You would be aghast at the sight of my blackened bruised forearms.?

I am looking forward to clutching iPad Pro Apr30 for a good look at it - not thinking 2 TB. Reviews keep saying it’s software lets it down but then I have always thought that as it doesn’t run OS full applications.?

I have thought I should maybe have had a splurge on the Windows desktop that grabbed me with collapsible touch screen and hockey puck thing for swivelling through colours in PS. At the time I thought this should be going on with the iMac Pro.

I don’t know about you lot but a lot of things that kept me busy as prior to Covid have faded away so I have a bit more brain space time to think about doing something for me. Other people having to rethink how they operate and not needing me to produce stuff for them. ?Want to keep the mind busy though.?

I will pray for the pair of you. I'm not a "Bible basher", only a weak C of E, but at difficult times it has given me strength.
Love to ypu & Peter
