Re: Photos taken on my iPhone XR

I usually get a little flag in the corner of my iMac¡¯s screen, asking whether I want it in Photos or just accepted; I usually choose Photos because, if it goes elsewhere, I can¡¯t find it. I don¡¯t use the cloud at all, other than with AirDrop. With digital, though, how come there is an ¡°original¡±? That is something I can¡¯t get my head around. Why can¡¯t my iPhone just behave like a camera, when I take a photo? :D

When you are airdropping is it going just into your downloads folder or is it going into the Photos program and being catalogued ? If its going into Photos then yes it would probably be accessible on everything else if its going to the cloud.

The original would be wherever you put it first I imagine.

I thought taking photos with my phone would be simple. I take the pic, use AirDrop to transfer it to my 16in MacBook Pro, running Catalina, also, separately, to my 27in iMac that runs High Sierra. I then drag and drop, from whichever Mac I am using, onto our Primary network drive.

The problem starts when I try to copy from either Mac to post it on Facebook. I get told that the original cannot be found, so I can¡¯t copy the copy that I want to copy! If I use my digital camera and do the same thing, it works without complaining. Do you have any ideas what I am doing wrong?
