To lighten the tone, not sure if I've told you this before. My father was programming the video recorder & he got down on his knees in front of it to do this. You've got to bear in mind he was born in 1928 & crystal radio sets were state of the art. He programmed it up, with channel, date, time etc. Then it turned off! & he said? "Well what happened there?" Meanwhile, I'd got the remote control in my hands & my mother beside me vigorously shaking her head & mouthing NO! Then he programmed it up a second time & it turned off again! He said: "Well, that was strange!" It was bloody tough because I was in contortions with laughter, but had to stay silent. Then he programmed it up a third time! Of course it turned off again, but this time he slowly turned his head around to see me with the remote control & he said: "Ouh, I might have guessed!" Obviously, I then programmed it up for him. Mum & I had had our fun! John
