Whatever I do, I can’t seem to bring back the folder list so I can actually delete some folders.

Tried all I can find on Google etc.

F6 Doesn’t go to the folder list.

Anyone have any ideas please?

?

Shift+F6 should take you there.

If F6 doesn't eventually cycle through the Folder Tree, then something's wrong.? That's one of the "visitation areas" that F6 moves through on its cycle.
?
Ctrl + Y brings up the "Go to Folder" dialog, where you can select a folder and then after selecting the folder, your focus is thrown to the first message contained in that folder, but not the folder tree itself.
?
When you are in any folder's message list, Shift + F6 should always throw focus back to the Folder Tree from the message list.? It's directly prior to the message list itself in the F6 traversal cycle.

Try pressing alt plus F1.
I believe this will show/hide the navigation/folder list sidebar.

Hello Steven,

?

You might want to make sure the folder pane is set to normal.? The sequence of keys to use are Alt followed by V, followed by y, followed by 2, followed by F.? Check to see if the Normal option is checked.? If not, press enter key on the Normal option.? If you also want Favorites at the top of the Folder list then go back into the menu where you chose Normal, and use down arrow key to the Favorites option and press enter to check it if it is not checked already. ?You should then be able to use shift F6 from your message list to get into the Folders list.

?

Take care. ??

Just FYI, that sequence does not exist for me in Outlook Classic.? After Alt + V, there is no Y option.? I suspect you may have an add-in that shifts some of your shortcuts (I have these in Word, but not Outlook).
?
The Alt + F1 option cycles the Folder Tree between: hidden, minimized, and maximized (on full view, which is the default).
?
If the Folder Tree is hidden, one definitely can't traverse something that's not on the screen.? But in minimized and maximized formats, it does get landed on during the F6 cycle.

No, it doesn't.? Ctrl + Y brings up the Go To Folder dialog.? If you select a folder here and hit OK, you do NOT end up with focus in the folder tree, but in the message list for the folder selected.
?
The original query:? "?I can’t seem to bring back the folder list so I can actually delete some folders."? You cannot gain focus on the folder tree itself with the Go To Folder dialog, you gain focus on a chosen folder's message list.? This does not allow you to start deleting folders afterward.? You still have to navigate to the folder tree itself, first.

Shannon,
?
Have you tried NVDA or Narrator?? Do they behave in the same way as JAWS?? This could very well be a JAWS problem, and the easiest way to rule that in or out is to use an alternate screen reader to see if the behavior persists or does not.

Here is what I do. Say I’m in my inbox, I hit Ctrl, shift, tab and that lands me in a list of all folders in Outlook, I simply arrow down to a folder I want to delete, rename, etc. and hit applications key and arrow to the choice I want. Hope this helps.

The Ctrl + Tab (and, of course, Ctrl + Shift + Tab to reverse direction) is another excellent choice.? It has a traversal cycle of:? Control Tabs List (mail, calendar, etc.), Folder Tree, Message List.? This is a technique that's new to me (we all tend to land on one we know and like, and then use it, and mine is generally F6).
?
As Alan Robbins noted, if you're in the message list for any given mailbox, hitting Ctrl + Shift + Tab will throw focus back to the Folder Tree with the current mailbox being the actual folder with focus.

Hello Steven,

?

You might want to try putting Outlook into the folder list view by using Ctrl with 6, (the 6 above the Y).? You should then be able to use Shift with function key 6 to go from the list of messages to the list of folders.? However, the Favorites option will not show in that view.? After doing Ctrl with 6, making sure Normal is checked at that time (which is should be), try going back to Mail view by using Ctrl 1 and see if the folders are showing.? In Mail view, Favorites is a choice in the layout menu.? In Folder View, your folders are shown but not Favorites.?

?

Take care.?
