¿ªÔÆÌåÓý>>I want JAWS 2020 to say the word Cap instead of hearing
pitch for Capital Letters.
This can be done by editing a speech and sounds scheme.
1. Press insert-6 (on the numbers row) for the JAWS Settings center. 2.? In the edit field enter "scheme" without the quotes and press down arrow. 3. Look for "Modify Schemes" and press the space key. 4. You can either choose an existing scheme or create a new one. Creating a new one might be preferable in case of any unintended changes. You could call it "Stanley's Test" or something similar. 5. Tab to edit the selected scheme and press space. 6. Navigate to the Misc page. Pressing shift-ctrl-tab should take you to this page. 7. In the list press the letter C and you should move to "caps speak text using single cap voice. 8. Tab to the radio buttons. 9> Press up arrow and select the "speak item" radio button. 10. Tab a few times until you are in an edit field labeled "text." Type "cap" or whatever you want your prefix to be. 11. Tab to OK. 12. You may need to tab to another OK button. You will be asked
if you'd like to save the settings. Say yes and see if this does
what you want. David Goldfield, Blindness Assistive Technology Specialist JAWS Certified, 2019 On 9/3/2020 9:07 AM, Stanley Haupt via
