Thanks for the really sweet suggestion of putting the temporary placemarker with ctrl + win + k at the beginning and jaws + space + m at the end. I just tried it in an Outlook email and it works there as well. And as in the situation Jean mentioned, it is entirely possible to do a ctrl + f search to find your endpoint, or F4 to search within an Outlook email, to save time. The F8 extended selection in Word would work OK for sighted people scanning the file with their eyes to drop the endpoint marker, but when I tried doing a ctrl + f search after F8, once you eject out of the search the F8 feature seems to cancel out. So the methods mentioned in this thread definitely seem like the way to go for us. Michael -----Original Message-----

Then, I will keep read on. When I will get the place where I want to end my selection, I would press JAWSKey+Space bar followed by M to mark from the start marker (temporary place marker which I have created before) to my current position. Now, I can press control+C to copy, Control+X to cut etc. In case of NVDA, You need to press NVDA+F9 to start the selection. Then, keep read on. When you will find the end of your selection, you can either press NVDA+F10 to select the text from the start marker to the current position followed by Control+C to copy, Control+X to cut etc, or, you can press NVDA+F10 twice quickly to select the text between the start marker and the current position and copy the text as well. I primarily used NVDA with my other laptop, but have jaws on this one and find it not the same when doing something like this. What I would do is hold down alt and go up or down to navigate by sentence. When I got to the point I wanted I would hit control shit down to go to the end of the paragraph or release control To go line by line. or if I wanted the rest of the document control shift end. holding down control with the right and left arrow navigate by entire word. Sometimes, you can get to the point you want and if you want that entire line hold down shift and hit end.
