With Jaws 2018 and Ms Word 2010, I experience the same, but it
works if you search with the function key 6 to get the text
field.

I have a student who uses Jaws 2019,
with MS word 2013 and Windows 10. When doing a simple search, control+F, types
in the ssearch term, presses enter, which then takes her to the first search
result. Then the escape is used to get out of the find, Jaws reports, ¡°Not
available outside of tables or Spellchecker in Office 2013 or later.¡± I can not
reproduce this message. All Jaws updates have been applied. And I can¡¯t imagine
why this is happening, since it was only stated once the escape key was pressed.
