There are a ton of ways one might do this, but at the moment (5/11/2025) what follows is probably the simplest.

With focus in your inbox message list, if you hit the Alt key, and only the Alt key . . .

?

1. If you are in New Outlook, you should hear your screen reader announce:
Ribbon region (NVDA)
Home Tab Selected (JAWS)
Ribbon tabs group (Narrator)

2. If you are in Outlook Classic, you should hear your screen reader announce:
Ribbon Tabs (NVDA)
Upper Ribbon (JAWS)
Ribbon Tabs Pane (Narrator) ?
