Yes, this change was announced by Microsoft 365 a while ago. Microsoft 365 Message Center is a very good source of information about updates. I think you need a Microsoft 365 subscription to access it. You can also subscribe to e-mail summaries. ?

Today I was working with a client who has Office 2021 Home and Business on her computer, and when we first fired up her computer the designations were "Outlook (new)" and "Outlook (classic)."? After the most recent preview update to Windows 11 was applied, these changed to just plain Outlook and "Outlook (classic)." ? I now suspect this change is tied to a Windows update rather than any updates to Office or M365, and for that reason alone you can be sure it's coming to everyone as the update that makes this change rolls out. ? This change makes perfect sense since what started out as "Outlook (new)" is ultimately going to be the only Outlook.?
