BTW, I just checked what the target for Outlook (classic) and it is: ?"C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\root\Office16\OUTLOOK.EXE"

?

I just followed my traditional instructions (below) for creating a desktop shortcut to a program using the above noted path, and it does fire up Outlook Classic.

?

1. Gain focus on the desktop with nothing selected.
2. Bring up the context menu.
3. Hit W, S ?[New, Shortcut]
4. The create shortcut dialog appears. ?In the "Type the location of the item" edit box, enter the full path to the program you want to run. ?In this case, that path is:
"C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\root\Office16\OUTLOOK.EXE"
The quotes are necessary since there are spaces in the full path.
5. Hit the Next button.
6. In the "Type a name for this shortcut" edit box, give the shortcut a name that makes sense. ?In this case, that might be Outlook Classic.
7. Hit the Finish button, and that new shortcut to invoke the program is now on your desktop.
