Re: Problem Saving Documents In MS Office 2021

Hi all,

?

Thanks for all the help but I think I didn¡¯t explain the problem very well.? The problem is occurring in all Office apps.? I¡¯m able to get into the ¡°save as¡± dialog and enter all the information specifying where the file should be saved and the files new name.? So far, things are pretty simple and much the same as any other program when doing a ¡°save as¡±.? When I press the save button, however, I get a context menu with the selected item being ¡°map network drive¡±.? No matter what I do, I can¡¯t specify a local hard drive instead of on the network.? I¡¯ll definitely be moving up to MS Office 2024 soon.? I might as well be investing my time into a version that will not be going away in October.? Again, thank you for any suggestions for resolving this problem.? Thank you.

?

Take care,

I believe they are asking about the classic verses mini ribbon.

Ctrl + F1 brings up the ribbon display options will toggle between what looks like the full ribbon with all icons and labels visible versus what shows like it's a menu driven system, but it's not, it's just the tabs for the various ribbons and you need to activate the correct one to see the option.

?

Effectively, it makes no difference which one you use if you can't see, as hitting Alt followed by the right letter for the ribbon you want exposes it in full regardless of what's on display between activations.

?

What used to be known as the simplified ribbon no longer seems to be present.
