Re: Yahoo Search Broken?

Many of YahooGroups' functions seem to work for most people but not for others. ?I read regularly about this happening. ?Problems come and go ... and come and go again and again. ?Yahoo hasn't yet learned the old saying, "if it ain't broke, don't fix it."

I think the situation is that the bugs are all over the place, and Yahoo's servers do not all behave the same on any given date. ?You may just need to wait it out until it works again for you.

I went back and the search option is gone, that is why I use a mail client and keep the emails that are important, the web site is a disaster.

If you click on a post to read it, the search box moves the the top center of the page.

Neither search works in , but apparently it works fine in neo.

Thanks,

Mike

However, when I try to do a search, for example, "tl494", I always get the following message:

Hi Guys

Actually, you can use a 50/60 Hz xfmr up there at 500Hz just fine
with no extra core dissipation.
The flux density is reduced due to the mag current being proportionately less.
the losses are roughly the same.

Its just that they dont do that for aircraft supplies due to weight.

These days with SMPS, who uses big iron any more?

The main issue is to get the thin laminations you need for 500 Hz. I
suppose they are available, as used in aircraft transformers, but maybe
really difficult to get in small quantities.

I think that pins it down to the server your messages go to: it's not re-directing to the neo page.

Now I have to unscramble Firefox passwords and delete the membership to the forum so I don't screw up Helmut's member logs.
You are not shown as a member with that username yet.

Not to everyone, by any means.

Re: Spice model

Hello Patho,

It doesn't seem to have occurred to you to check if LTspice already included a model for BC547. If you had checked, you would have found it in the standard.bjt file in the LTspice installation, and hence available for selection from the "Pick New Transistor" dialogue.

Tony

Yes, I was thinking that might be a solution. But isn't neo giving problems posting? So I'd need two separate logons, one for search and one for posting. But if they have different urls, then the Firefox password might still work for both. It's worth trying.

You could try going to and following links
to the LTspice front page.
I tried. Doesn't help.

Thanks,

Mike

However, when I try to do a search, for example, "tl494", I always get the following message:

"We're sorry, but we were unable to complete your request at this time. If you continue to receive this error for more than 48 hours, please contact our Customer Care team. We apologize for this inconvenience."

They give a link for Customer Care, but when I click on it, I get the following message:

"Document Not Found"

"Sorry, the document you requested is not available.
Please click here to visit the Yahoo Groups home page."

This problem started a while ago, and it renders Yahoo essentially useless.

If anyone is able to get the search working, could you explain how you do it?

Thanks,

Re: Switch ... on - Switch... off

I posted an example file under temp, the file is "Switch_test.asc"

Re: Switch ... on - Switch... off

I thank you Andy, but i've made a small circuit with one switch ON and another OFF and they work exactly the same, so i don't understand the difference.
Enrico

Re: Spice model

Hello,

LTspice accepts any file name for models. Even a filename like partho.duet would be OK.

Best regards,
Helmut

Re: Spice model

Thanks John. I Find out BC547 but there have no spice model of bc547 in Fairchild Semiconductor. I downloaded BC548 spice model but this file is .mod format. can I use it? If not how can I find out relative Pspice Model. Please help.

Re: Switch ... on - Switch... off

Enrico wrote, "I cannot understad the functionality of this statements. Nothing from help, could someone explain that?"

When a switch is "on" it means the switch is closed, or the switch contacts are closed or connected. ?A connection is made through the switch. ?The switch is in the state where it has a low resistance.

When a switch is "off" it is the opposite. ?The switch is open, with a high resistance.

For LTspice's switch model, "on" and "off" only mean the two states of the switch. ?You could have the model work "backwards", so that the "on" condition is the high resistance state.

I hope this answers your question.

Andy
