OK, Here I am as user D4394548 with a completely different identity and emal address. Still goes to as it did before. So I'm SOL on search:)

Now I have to unscramble Firefox passwords and delete the membership to the forum so I don't screw up Helmut's member logs.

Thanks,

Mike

?? You must have a completely different system from me. I was referring to the search window at the top right of the message page in the forum.

If you click on a post to read it, the search box moves the the top center of the page.

Neither search works in , but apparently it works fine in neo.

Thanks,

Mike

Re: Spice model

Hello Patho,

It doesn't seem to have occurred to you to check if LTspice already included a model for BC547. If you had checked, you would have found it in the standard.bjt file in the LTspice installation, and hence available for selection from the "Pick New Transistor" dialogue.

Tony

Yes, I was thinking that might be a solution. But isn't neo giving problems posting? So I'd need two separate logons, one for search and one for posting. But if they have different urls, then the Firefox password might still work for both. It's worth trying.

You could try going to and following links
to the LTspice front page.
I tried. Doesn't help.

Thanks,

Mike

Hello,

is there anywhere a LTSpice model for a 1,25V LMV431 voltage reference?

Thank you

Re: Spice model

Thanks?Helmutsennewald

But I knew that in Ltspice models are .spi, .cir and .net formet. I have face problem that there dodes not create symbol automatically in .mod format. Please help

Re: Switch ... on - Switch... off

I posted an example file under temp, the file is "Switch_test.asc"

Re: Switch ... on - Switch... off

I thank you Andy, but i've made a small circuit with one switch ON and another OFF and they work exactly the same, so i don't understand the difference.
Enrico

Re: Spice model

Hello,

LTspice accepts any file name for models. Even a filename like partho.duet would be OK.

Best regards,
Helmut

Re: Spice model

Thanks John. I Find out BC547 but there have no spice model of bc547 in Fairchild Semiconductor. I downloaded BC548 spice model but this file is .mod format. can I use it? If not how can I find out relative Pspice Model. Please help.

Re: Switch ... on - Switch... off

Enrico wrote, "I cannot understad the functionality of this statements. Nothing from help, could someone explain that?"

When a switch is "on" it means the switch is closed, or the switch contacts are closed or connected. ?A connection is made through the switch. ?The switch is in the state where it has a low resistance.

When a switch is "off" it is the opposite. ?The switch is open, with a high resistance.

For LTspice's switch model, "on" and "off" only mean the two states of the switch. ?You could have the model work "backwards", so that the "on" condition is the high resistance state.

I hope this answers your question.

Andy

Business Kid,
Yes: You are very OT as you don’t answer to questions.
Sorry if you had never could understand W 98.
Don’t you know that W 7 is just like Vista SR2?
I don’t agree with you at all. Could you have a look on your very first question on this thread?
For me this topic is closed. I thought that this thread was about updating LTspice under Unix. Will Install Needless Data On Whole System
Ph.
Please: could? write something like Unix in the object of your mails about Unix? Not Linux or Unix and linux.
Subject: Re:[OT] [LTspice] Re: LTspice Install problem under linux

This problem in the topic is long solved, but . . .

The last windows I ran and maintained was windows 98. If one reinstalled or updated like that, junk seemed to collect, such that such that one smartalec explained windows as "Will Install Needless Data On Whole System."
I parted company with win98 & the BSOD about 2006. But I do believe windows does many things well these days, and one or two much better than linux (Graphics, for instance). I half liked XP and windows 7, but when I was buying laptops, they stuck me with vista and windows 8 :-((. Not much encouragement, I think you'll agree.

It's the sort of thing I wouldn't try, as that was a great way to clog up a registry with junk, and end up with random files on your drive. Windows has got less inefficient, but old habits die hard.

The main issue is to get the thin laminations you need for 500 Hz. I suppose they are available, as used in aircraft transformers, but maybe really difficult to get in small quantities.

Thank you John

The three phase is 36Vac 500Hz

Then you have got the voltage wrong. 36V ac translates as 50.9V amplitude.

which really chucks a spanner in the transformer design.

Does it?

Doubly so as I have no component values to go on from the schematics and the descriptive text is in German. I'm just having some fun guestimating values and seeing what happens. with the values i used and a SCR instead of a thyratron.

The example circuit was the minimum needed to demonstrate the problem.

Modify the simulate statement for .tran 0 100 99.98
You will see that all the problems you see in the first seconds, due to the initial current surge have disappeared.

500 mA with no load is too much anyway, I think,

In the absence of VA rating, it is presomptuous to venture a judgement whether the magnetizing current is too high or too small.

even if the full load current is 50 A.

Making the magnetizing current only 1/100th of the load current is a respectable performance

Also, the primary r.m.s. voltage is 56.6 V, not 62.3 V.

48.(1.732)/1.414=58.8

Still, never mind, eh?

With so many errors and uncertainties in the proposed circuit, it is difficult to have a sound judgement.
