My DFF FLIPs but it does not want to FLOP
I hate cryptic error messages...
Perhaps the author(s) of the program could add some possible solutions to solve the encountered errors?I ?I know I'm only dreaming. I just uploaded a zipped file. The schematic .asc and a .jpeg screen print of the displayed error. It's name is DFF ERRRRR.zip. Can any one telme what I do wrong? G. |

¿ªÔÆÌåÓýI haven¡¯t seen much mention of the book sponsored by Wuerth, the 744-page English version being 'THE LTSPICE IV SIMULATOR' by Gilles Brocard, professionally translated from the French. There is also a German version. It's very comprehensive, but I admit I don't find it a joy to use. However, it must restrict the market for other such books. ? With best wishes DESIGN IT IN! ?I think John has a point. ?One reason to ask Mike E. and Helmut about their "book plans" is that? the original progenitors? of this site ?need to be sure that IF it is -- or needs to be-- replaced with something ..that something...is a "something better". ?Obviously this is a "labor of love" for many members..emotional rewards as well as the standard intellectual ?ones.? That Mike and Helmut might be some financial compensation...or that John gets few consulting contacts/contracts for his efforts (and/or Vlad as well) is icing on a big cake. I have yet to make a solid nickle on my Yahoo pages...but you never know....marketing people tell me to "get pushier" on my emails...but not in my nature to yank cords...especially discussing $10,000 video equipment.? Re: Group Milestone
Hello,
I am happy that the LTspice group is successful since 14 years. Thanks to all who asked questions and to all who helped to answer these questions.? LTspice is a fast SPICE program, more compatible to third party models than many other SPICE programs, it's free of charge and supported for free in many groups. I am sure that this great support in groups like the LTspice group is due to it's free license to use.? Last but not least thanks to Mike, the author of LTspice, for his mission to make the best SPICE program and to make it available for free. Thanks to Yahoo which has kept all the groups' features over two? decades.?The main feature of Yahoo groups for the LTspice-group is the files section.?Let's hope Verizon will not reduce the features next year.? Best regards, Helmut |
Re: Analog Devices to buy LT!
Specifically, "XVII alpha" referred to the alpha-test version of LTspice XVII. Alpha-test comes first, then beta-test, then the real released product. I am not sure if Mike Engelhardt actually referred to this test version (when it was a test version) as being in alpha-test. Regardless, it is no longer in the 'test' phase.? It is released to the public. ? Andy ? |
Re: Probing phase
One thing to remember is that in reality, a single signal doesn't have a phase, and phase is only meaningful in frequency domain, or with a single frequency excitation. This is because in reality we don't have an absolute time 0 (or it is so far ago it isn't meaningful to use it). In time domain simulations we have an artificial T0.

Since in reality, all phases are relative to something, changing the something and direction is mostly a matter of convention and what helps the intuition. On 8/13/16 9:18 AM, Steve Kale stevekale@... [LTspice] wrote:

¿ªÔÆÌåÓýHiAny takers for my remaining questions below? Thanks in advance Steve On 9 Aug 2016, at 19:57, Andy wrote: Ok. "Phase of that one voltage"...Phase of the differential? (Not so intuitive to a newbie.) I¡¯ve clearly been getting confused between whether the graph portrays phase (excluding the op amp's 180 degrees) or phase margin directly. Various tutorials are rather?¡°loose¡±?in this respect. Plus the impact of the minus sign. In the example I posted, if it is not applied then the graph would read +89 degrees (phase margin?). If it is applied then the graph reads -91 degrees. It seems odd to talk about a negative margin but Helmut had some time ago told me to plot with the minus sign. Helmut¡¯s previous advice: You would get a positive phase instead of a negative phase and we know from experience the phase must be negative. :-)" |

Group Milestone
Everyone, In the last day or two, this group has reached a significant milestone.? It has for the first time gone over 60000 group members. Currently at 60028 LTspice users and would-be users. There are ups and downs all the time, so I can't guarantee that it will stay above 60000, every day. But I thought it was worth mentioning.? Great group, indeed. Regards, Andy |

¿ªÔÆÌåÓýIt's beginning to sound like these are sintered dust cores, not ferrites at all. ?If you tell me the manufacturer (web site link if possible) and the part numbers of the two cores they are offering, I will investigate further. ? Henry,
Take the message that the vendor gave you, forward it to another vendor, and see if they can help..specifically if the second vendor might be one of their competitors. References: SPICE Models -- Sample Circuits -- Transformer Modeling --Thesis Papers W. Warren |
Re: Henry's current transformer problem
John
Thank you for your comment. The manufacturer says that they cannot give me information on the core material. They have said though that the one we are using has a high permeability core designed for low frequency. Also that it consists of 80% Nickel. The one we are using is susceptible to damage due to shock and an alternive they have suggested (for which there seems to be no difference in the overall CT specification - I am trying to clarify) is susceptible to rust! So what would be your best guess for a typical material so that I can enter its characteristics into my simulations? Thanks and Regards Henry Kafeman |
