My concern is that Mike will choose not to stay. Since LTspice seems to be a one-man show, it could be quite vulnerable to ¡°disenchantment¡±.

Adding a bit more to my previous reply....
LTC's strength is in power conversion products and switchers, which benefit greatly from the special features in LTspice.? ADI's greater strength is in linear parts and converters, for which standard SPICE models work well.? In other words, the special hidden features built into LTspice, might not do as much to improve the models for the vast majority of ADI's parts.
This is supposed to be one of the reasons for ADI's interest in LTC -- the fact that LTC's product line doesn't overlap with ADI's.
