Re: Importing 2N7000

Tony and eewiz,

When you hit F2, and type a part name or number, you are not looking in your "standard.mos" listing.? You are looking in "lib\sym", which is not the same as "lib\cmp" which is where the "2N7002" model lives.

I just tried it.? Pressing F2 does not look in "lib\cmp\standard.mos" and won't find the "2N7002" that lives inside your "standard.mos".? The only way it can find a "2N7002" after pressing F2 is if you have added a separate part symbol named "2N7002.asy" in one of your "lib\sym" subdirectories, which makes it separate and distinct from the ".MODEL 2N7002 VDMOS ..." that should be inside your "lib\cmp\standard.mos" file.? That is the one that should come up after clicking "Pick New MOSFET".? Those are separate and distinct model areas in LTspice.

This has nothing to do with updating your LTspice libraries.? In fact, the 2N7002 model comes in "standard.mos" right from the start before updating any libraries.? If you don't have the 2N7002 model, it means you have not even installed LTspice yet.? But it's not seen after pressing F2 because that is not where the 2N7002 model is (unless you added a separate 2N7002.asy symbol to your LTspice at some point).
