Re: [www.Kresy-Siberia.org] Re: Polish Navy Exhibition at Sikorski

Dzien dobry Antoni,

I have emailed the? PDF file to Krystyna Szypowska and she will upload it to the Virtual Museum Hall of Memories and advise the K-S Group of its location.
I knew Oskar (Danek) Peszynski one or the editors of the book very well, sadly he is not with us any more but I am still in touch with Marysia Polkowska who was also involved in producing? the book.

I was at PISM last September but unfortunately the building was closed for renovations though I was able to spend several hours in the reading room. I went through all of the logbooks for ORP Piorun and Garland. Martin there is a wonderful, detailed account of a convoy night on Slazak in A.D. Divine's book "Navies in Exile". Do you have it? If not, I will scan those pages for you.

He served on it through D Day and the Normandy landings, and at the symbolic taking by Polish troops of the German port of Wilhelmshaven in May 1945. Prior to this he was on the Krakowiak, involved in the invasions of Sicily (June 43), the Greek Cyclades and Dodecanese groups of islands (Nov 43).
