40 FT8 3-5 pm
I started before 3 since nobody was doing FT8 on 40 at the time and ran until the thunder got real at about 4:45. Chuck, I don't see those columns, either. Not just you. 73 contacts made. 73, Kay N3KN

20M CW 3-5 PM Shift 2
Just got done with a 20M CW shift. It wasn¡¯t terribly busy ¨C ran in streaks, no calls for a stretch then several at once. Worked quite a few European stations and Midwest US this afternoon. As mentioned earlier QSB was a challenge. 73, Leon NT8B

N4CF 80M CW 7-9 PM Tuesday
I just signed-up for the 7-9pm slot, but QRN is very bad, and action is minimal. We'll see.... --- Mike N4CF

July 5 Notes 14
There are enormous gaps in the schedules for July 5 to 7. Please do what you can to fill a few. I am allowing in, a couple people from the wait list also. Remember, top 5 logs get a $25 gift card ... this year, it'll be a gas card. Note there are pirate stations operation. I heard K3K on 7200 last night, big pile up, until well after midnight. But I went back, and said to myself, K3K??? Not K2K? Sure enough, there is spoof station, spoofing 13 Colonies. They even have a QRZ page. From the pile up, the people working them, thought it was K2K. Okay, I am off to 7:00 am 40 meters...

Will start early 2
I¡¯m going to start my 3-5 shift on 40 FT8 early since no one is scheduled there now. I¡¯ll have to dodge thunderstorms but will do as much as possible. 73, Kay N3KN

40 meter SSB 3
Yesterday I operated 40 meters SSB from 7 to 9 pm. My pace was comfortable. I had a few QSOs here and there but rarely swamped by more than three calls at once. There were 5- or 10-minute intervals with nothing. At 9 pm I handed K2B off to K2LLC and he was immediately (and I mean immediately) swamped with a pileup. How can that be? 73, Bill de K3WD

CWT CW on today 2
I have been asked to pass along to CW ops the fact that CWT is scheduled for three slots today, and maybe to stand down during those times. Here's their request from K2L: One of our K2L CW Operators just advised me of the weekly CWT Sessions that occur each Wednesday for three (3), one-hour periods in the contest bands like 10, 20, 40, 80. He advises that hundreds of CW Operators (Including many 13 Col CW Operators) will be practicing their CW skills at these times across . As such, this mode may be chaotic and somewhat conflict with our event. The CWT operating times for Wednesday - July 6, 2022 are: 0900 - 1000 EDT 1500 - 1600 EDT 2300 - 2400 EDT Since CWT overlaps with our Thirteen Colonies Event, it might make it difficult to make contacts as well as frustrating to other operators. In the spirit of being good radio partner operators, we at K2L will stand-down from CW Operations for these time periods. My comment to them: seems a little silly. They should not take entire bands. A CW signal is maybe 25 Hz wide, so there's plenty of room for all. Use your own judgment. David, K2WPM

QRT 2
Sorry, folks. I'm QRT at 13:30 on 40m SSB. Too much noise and only one contact in 1.5 hours. I will try again. My station features an attic antenna and that may be a source although I had no trouble contacting a few 13 colony stations on 20m just to see if I am getting out and can hear. 73, Ed KW4GF Sent via the Samsung Galaxy, powered by Cricket Wireless

20m FT8
Made 60 contacts on 20m FT8 in the 9-11 slot. Somewhat slow and more re-sends than usual. I could hear noise on the band but fortunately most of the contacts eventually completed. A number of other 13 Colonies stations were on 20 FT8 also, FWIW. I'm scheduled for 40 SSB in the 3-5 pm slot and hope the conditions are better than what y'all have had to deal with this morning. Fingers crossed. 73, Kay N3KN

40 SSB 3-5 pm 3
I signed off at 4:25, as the noise level is just to high to dig out the few callers. I logged only 59 contacts in the hour & 25 minutes. I need a shovel to dig that noise out of my ears! Back at it tomorrow, though, for the big finish. 73, Kay N3KN
