One of the K2 coordinators claimed there is an FCC rule prohibiting more than one transmission per mode per band at same time.

I was not able to find such a rule, but I was reminded of this rule, which is pertinent:

?

97.119 (d) When?transmitting?in?conjunction?with?an?event?of?special?significance,?

a?station?may?substitute?for?its?assigned?call?sign?a?special?event?call?sign?as?shown?

I am opposed to having multiple stations on a single band-mode. ?There are few enough callers on CW as it is. ?If I see that we have other same-band K2B signals in addition to me on any of my reserved CW slots, I'll simply quit.

I know at least one other "Colonie" has been so absent on CW all week that its appearance yesterday necessitated split-frequency operation. ?Perhaps they need multiple operators on the last day to make up for insufficient presence the first 6 days — but we in VA certainly do not, on CW at least.

Re: Free-for-all Sunday?

Sorry for the additional email.
I've received several comments / complaints / suggestions.

First please make sure to stay clear of band edge.? For SSB, I've always understood that to be 3 Khz, or 5 Khz to be safe.
Band chart attached.
Second, make sure you are within your license class privileges, same concept for maintaining a cushion.
Third, please respect the Considerate Operator's Guide - several frequencies that should be reserved for SSTV, etc.
Fourth, Hurricane Beryl is headed for Texas; please respect 14.325 and 7268.? I know a couple other colonies seem to be intentionally operating on those frequencies - maybe because they are clear, but I hope we won't.
Fifth, I've had a couple complaints about individuals glomming large chunks of slots.? I'm thrilled to see slots filled, but please leave some slots for others.
Finally, I see more thunderstorms possible this weekend.? Please, please do not take risks.? At the first sign of storm, please shut down / disconnect / ground, do whatever you need to do to be safe.? Ham radio just isn't worth it!? And let us know - it's a big state, so folks in another area might be able safely to operate.
Thanks again,

David, K2WPM

Re: FT8 Log

I've never used N3FJP.? For WSJT-x I set up a separate configuration for K2B. It was years ago but I think the only difference was the K2B? call sign entered on the General tab. I'm not in contesting mode. To make it talk to LOG4OM I set up the UDP Server on the Reporting tab to talk to LOG4OM. Not sure how it would work for N3FJP.
