Re: New op... N1MM+ config?
开云体育I think you will find that the UDC contest is for hunters, not for us. DX general log was just right for me.?

You should be aware of a new competing special event at the same time, and using the same concepts, as 13 Colonies Special Event.? It's being heavily promoted -- several days at top of QRZ front page.
It celebrates America's 250th anniversary ... which is two years in the future.? I don't know how this affects us, maybe not at all.? Just in case people ask you which event you are... here is a link to QRZ post. Hope everyone had a great Field Day; now fill those slots! David, K2WPM |

Re: New op... N1MM+ config?
I installed the N1MM+ User Defined Contest file; it displays the entire exchange for 13 Colonies.? I think it is more intended for chasers but will work fine for us.? Instructions are here:?? and the 13 Colonies files are here:?? ?Outline of what I did (I may be glossing over a few steps)
That was pretty much it.? I'll have to do a few odd things for logging satellite QSOs properly but I think it will work fine.?? 73 Steve KS1G On Fri, Jun 28, 2024 at 1:00?PM Kay N3KN via <kayn3kn=[email protected]> wrote:

Re: New op... N1MM+ config?
I believe there is a N1MM+ template (possibly a User-Defined Contest) for 13 Colonies but General DX Logging is fine for our purposes as long as we are certain to create a blank log, no previous QSOs in it. Of course we have to set our callsign to K2B for this log in the setup screen.? For logging FT8/FT4, we also have to set the callsign to K2B. I leave the grid as my own. I clean out the existing ?.adi log file so only the K2B contacts will be in the log. Because stuff happens, I copy this log to a memory stick and/or the cloud after each session.? When the event ends, I import the FTx log file into the N1MM+ log and send it as an .adi to our noble leader.? I’m sure there are other ways that also work but this is how I have done it in the past. 73, Kay N3KN On Fri, Jun 28, 2024 at 11:57?AM Jeff Crawford K0ZR via <kzerozr=[email protected]> wrote:

Sean, in the past I have just used "DX? General Logging" in N1MM as my template. As you know, all that is so-called important is to collect callsigns. Jeff, K0ZR On Fri, Jun 28, 2024 at 10:33?AM Sean Walberg N3RTW via <sean=[email protected]> wrote: Hi folks, --

Re: Operating guidelines / frequency plan?
开云体育Mike (N4CF),I think GBA might mean God Bless America. Last year I suggested that 73 & 76 (as “73 es 76” on CW) be used, 73 for its well known meaning and the newly invented 76 being the numbered radiogram (SEVENTY SIX, ?if actually used as a numbered radiogram) reminiscent of “1776” and carrying the meaning of something like “Have a Happy American Independence Day”. What do you (collectively) think? I don’t remember any specific frequencies from last year, but that could be limiting if there were multiple K2(X) stations on the same mode on their respective portions of the band. Operating guidelines / frequency plan?
Are there general operating guidelines for K2B? I don't remember much about last year. My N1MM function key file contains just the normal CQ, so I assume folks will recognize the 1x1 calls without any special prompting.
My F3 "thank you" function key contains this: TU GBA {MYCALL} What the heck does "GBA" mean? I dimly recall someone suggested we send 76 instead of 73 at the end of a QSO. Is that recommended, or was that a flash in the pan? What frequencies are recommended for calling CQ? Up 76 kHz from the bottom of the band? Something else? Thanks. --- mike N4CF x (x)

2024 K2B and POTA
I have talked with Dave.
Again this year, if you operate as K2B from a Parks On the Air location, send me that ADIF log and I'll get it uploaded to the POTA site. But still keep it in your log to be send at the end of the event. I only need it to upload. Good luck and Have fun 73 Tim / AA4SS timboyd@... ? |
