Agree on the R-42 Reproducer. First I ever heard was in the shop of W3HM, Howard Mills, a couple of years ago. Wonderful. It was hooked to my 51J4 at the time - not famous for "hifi audio" - but it

I saw one at Sussex last year, but there was quite a bit wax on the chassis around the opt, so it may have been cooked, and the radio was $100 ish, so I passed. The owner wasn't around, so I couldn't

Re: SX-62 FM respons
The SX-62 has a fairly delicate output transformer that is sensitive to bad coupling caps in the output stages, sometimes you will find one half of the transformer open. If you get a chance to

Re: SX-62 FM respons
the 62A is a better receiver of the 2 ( in my opinion), it has a standard speaker output besides the 5000 ohm speaker, and there are less loktal tubes in it ( I don't like those).

Re: SX-62 FM respons
Do you have the gear to do a sweep alignment? Ideally and if available, use a spectrum analyzer with a tracking generator so you can visualize the FM IF and have a better idea of what¡¯s going on.
