Joe; i guess you are speaking of SMD [silver mica disease] that apparently seems to make them erratic and then die shorted out and is common in many 455 kH IF transformers for AM etc.? The original posting mentioned only the one station and that it came in at two frequencies, so we don't have much to go on.
