Masks in public


 

CHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. ¡ª Commuters will no longer have to wear masks on P.E.I. public transit as of Friday.

Chief public health officer Dr. Heather Morrison announced the mandate would be lifted in a news release, noting that while masks aren't required, they are recommended.?

¡°We continue to recommend masks in public places across Prince Edward Island,¡± said Morrison. ¡°It¡¯s important for Islanders to continue to practice preventive measures such as hand washing, wearing a well-fitting mask and staying home when feeling sick through the summer months.¡±

¡°This is a great indication that our community transmission has been continuing to decrease over the last few weeks," she said.
