Halpins in Louth County, Ireland

I've traced my Halfpenny/Hapenny/Halpin line back to County Louth with the family of Richard Halfpenny (1816-1896) and Anna Markey Ryder (1819-1896).? To my knowledge their eldest son, Patrick (1844-1901) was the only to stay in the in the British Isles.? He lived and died in County Durham, where the family had moved for a time before emigrating to America.? His parents and 9 other (known) siblings ended up in several states; primarily Maryland and Illinois.? The other children were John, Mary Ann, Alice, James, Ann, Bernard, Thomas, Lawrence and Ellen.? Is anyone else familiar with this family?

I have a Halpin family who lived in Drogheda Co Louth.? But I doubt any connection.
Samuel Halpin, a millwright, was born into a Church of Ireland (Anglican) family in Wicklow in 1845, father Robert mother Madelaine Turnbull.? He died in Drogheda in 1918.
There were children Robert James, Margaret Frances (Fanny), Maria Rose (Ciss), Madelaine Mabella, Samuel died young and Anne Christina.
Robert James Halpin and his wife Alice Myers were national teachers in Wicklow and Dublin.

As best I can tell, my Halpin's spent time in the townlands of Hunterstown and Arthurstown, near Ardee.? Not too far away - roughly 20 km.? To my knowledge, mine were all Roman Catholic.? However, I suspect that sort of thing was a little muddled in those times.? So, they might be cousins.? Aren't we all at some point?? Those of my family who emigrated to America, did so in the 1870s.
