Confusing welcome message 5
I have a main group named admin which isn't really used as an email group. Under that is a subgroup called discussion. When I add someone to the discussion group, I must first add them to the admin group, which is fine. My problem is that generates an automatic greeting message telling the individual to send email to admin@..., which is something I don't want them to do. I cannot edit that greeting, but I am allowed to add an addendum. So I do, in which I tell them to ignore the first part of the message and instead send their messages to discussion@.... But I'm sure this is confusing. Can anyone think of a work-around or a better way of handling this?

Premium account and help inquiries 5
The Help Center includes the following statement: "You can get help with Groups.io from the resources below. If you'd like more assistance or have questions, please check out the Group Managers Forum and Group_Help groups. Due to the current volume of support email, we can only answer messages sent from owners of Premium groups at this time." If you are an owner of a Premium group, is there a particular email address you should use for help queries? Or does your email address automatically identify you as a Premium group owner, thereby allowing for a direct response? Thanks.

Login to groups.io versus membership in a group 3
Do you need to have your own login and password to groups.io in order to participate in a specific group, or can you just use the group's email address and other links provided in the welcome email to conduct your business with this group?

Incorrect Time of Calendar Events 6
I believe there may be a bug in the calendar events. I posted an event for Tuesday, 14 January 2025, 10am to 11am Eastern Standard Time. UTC -05:00 Eastern Standard Time - New York It shows on the calendar as 7am In the description it shows as Tuesday, January 14, 7:00am - 8-am In the details panel it shows Tuesday, January 14, 2025 10:00am - 11:00am, (UTC-05:00) Eastern Time - New York My location is in (UTC-06:00) Mexico City, so if it was attempting to show calendar events in my local time zone, it would provide a time of 09:00am and not 07:00am Thanks in advance for any assistance! Google Surveys 5
Greetings Group Help, I am wondering if I can include a link to a survey into a group email, NOT for this group, but another group I am a member of here on goups.io. The survey has been created with Google Surveys and exists on the Google Surveys webpage. Does anyone know if that is allowed? If so, are there any potential glitches in doing this? Thank you, Ginger

new subscriber (member) form 4
Is there a way to having someone who clicks on the Subscribe link to a group (bottom of landing page) to be presented automatically with a form to fill out before the member request is sent for approval (ie appears in Pending)? Ideally simply triggered by the new user clicking on Subscribe to replace the default groups.io form, but could also work if new entries to Pending automatically triggers sending an email back with the form. Our small group (Premium) is selective about who to admit, and wish to reduce the amount of time/effort by Moderators/Owners to qualify applicants, ie avoid the time to do email back & forth to gather info beyond the default groups.io's first name and email address by a new subscriber before approval/denial. A custom form that would be presented for such info (eg, both first and last name, city/state, FCC callsign) in advance of the requester showing up in Pending would be very helpful to us, as we are experiencing a workload onslaught seeking additional info in nearly every single case of subscription requests. THEN, a plus would be to find way to automatically expand the groups.io Admin - Member listing for a few additional fields, in order to reduce rekeying the additional Member info into our custom Database for new "Members". I did search first here in this forum trying to be a good citizen, found nothing (sorry if this came up before, seems like a common need to me, but nothing came up).

Is there a way to view the spam folder for a given group? 6
Hi, Is it possible to view the spam folder for a given groups.io mailing list? I have a mailing list is not receiving messages from one source and I want to check if its spam filtering is blocking the message. To be very specific, I'm not talking about spam filtering on my end when I receive emails from groups.io -- rather, I'm referring to groups.io's own spam filtering behavior. The group that I'm managing is called cncf-cartography-maintainers@... for what that's worth. Thanks!

removed from WSJT-X group 14
Good evening, Don't know if this is a good idea posting here about my problem or not, if not please let me know the correct way of getting access back. Over a year ago (maybe 2 years) I was removed from WSJT-X group for a comment I made (actually I was agreeing with other users) and never have gotten my access back. Since the beta version of WSJT-X has stopped working I can not get to the group to find the fix. Can someone please give me help getting back on the group, after all it was a long time ago and I think I have been denied access long enough. The email address I was using when I go removed was ray_cathode1@... Any help would be very greatly appreciated. 73,

Convert a group to a sub group 9
Hi, There are two groups that we would like to add to a new group as a sub group. We would like to then, once they are all in one, join as a premium member. Both groups are part of one activity. For example, we'd like to create a group called HamX and take the two existing groups hamx-marketing and hamx-programs and have them all and future sub groups under HamX. HamX is the New England HamXposition organizers group. A group of volunteers that organize the Ham Radio New England Convention every year. Thank you for your help. Larry Krainson WB1DBY@...

Approval needed to send messages to my own group 2
I¡¯m the owner of a premium group, and every time I send a message to the group, I have to go in and approve it. I¡¯m missing something here, I thought that as an owner, I could send to the group. Do I have to change some moderation setting for myself?

How to make a member an admin/moderator? 4
Howdy, I'd like to make a member able to perform basic admin functions, like approve new members and make changes to the group page. I have not found a menu item for this. Is this possible and how can I do it? Thanks!

Sponsor vs Donation 4
A few questions on Sponsor and Donation 1) Between Sponsorship and Donations, why would someone choose one over the other? 2) I see donations have a fee associated to it so why use that? 3) Does either of the Sponsor or Donation options reoccur automatically? In other words, will someone who uses these options get billed monthly or annually? 4) Using Sponsorship is clear that it is use for paying the groups.io hosting. What about Donations? Is that funds that can be used outside groups.io? If so, this would explain question #1. Thanks in advance. Jon

A count of how many downloads have there been for a file? 9
I am a member (not an Owner or Moderator) of a fair few groups that I have created and upload documents for. Apart from the very occasional feedback from other members, I have currently no clue so to how many times the file/s are being downloaded. Is there a way for find out how many downloads there have been for a file or folder? Either by me or the moderator/owner of the sites. thank you & regards Duncan

Calendar Sync Issue 7
I have successfully subscribed in my Google calendar to the Groups.IO calendar for my group. However, it won't update. I have done the same thing on my iPhone calendar, and it updates properly. I've removed the calendar from Google, cleared the cache, and resubscribed, but it still shows the non-updated info. I've tried on different browsers and different computers, but none of them show the updated information. My iPhone is not using the Google Calendar engine but reading the Google Calendar information. It appears it's something in the Groups.IO to Google calendar sync process. Any suggestions?
