Fastmail Delivery Problems

There were some problems earlier at Fastmail.com, a mail service provider.? Even after Fastmail has cured whatever issues they may have had on their end, it appears that Groups.io is still not attempting to deliver to Fastmail.? Is there a way to request that Groups.io remove whatever block they have in place on attempted deliveries to Fastmail???

If some members went into bouncing status when this happened, they won't be returned to active (receiving messages) until they unbounce their account.? Groups.io only stops trying to deliver mail when an email service tells them to.? Those same services don't tell Groups.io when to start sending again.

Thank you for the reply.?
?
I believe I mischaracterized the problem in my original post.
?
I don't think the messages are bouncing yet.?
?
It appears from the Groups.io delivery history display that Groups.io is attempting delivery, but Fastmail is temporarily refusing to accept the mail from Groups.io, with RC 421.? I have opened a ticket with Fastmail support to ask them to remove the block before the 24-hour block period expires on its own.? (Fastmail had some problems over the last few days, resulting in longer-than-usual delivery queues.)? I suspect that many Fastmail users are affected by this problem.?
?
If Groups.io has a channel to Fastmail admins, perhaps their admin-to-admin request to unblock would carry more weight than mine.

I too have had a problem getting messages from my other groups to download as emails to my computer.? I was using a Fastmail email account.? I have now gone back to using a Gmail account and the messages seem to be coming through.? Has anyone determined if/when the Fastmail problem will be fixed?? Is there anything I can do on my end?
?
Thanks,
Ann

If the emails to your Fastmail account were being returned to Groups.io, then Groups.io eventually sets your status to "Bouncing" or "Bounced".? If that happened, try this:
?
Go to the webpage for the group, and login (top right corner) if you are not already logged in to your Groups.io account.? Then click Subscription in the column on the left, and check the Settings.? I'm not certain, but I think it is on that page where it gives you an option to Unbounce yourself if you were set to Bouncing or Bounced.? (Note: There might be another place where you need to do that.? Since I am not currently Bouncing, I can't check it for myself.)

Thanks, Andy.? I will check that out.

OK, it looks like I am not "bouncing" yet but there are a lot of messages that show "attempted" but have been unsuccessfully sent/received.? I guess I will just switch to another email account until I can figure out what to do about the Fastmail one.

Ann, I hope you will please consider opening a support ticket at Fastmail, as I have done earlier. There is strength in numbers. If more Fastmail users complain, it is more likely that Fastmail will assign technical staff to fix the problem.

Also, is there a way to request that Groups.io staff contact Fastmail to resolve the problem?

FYI, I think that was done already.? I saw it mentioned on 'beta'.
?
Mind you, there is no guarantee that the Groups.io staff has the resources to check every email service that has a hiccup or blockage.? I don't know what percentage of group members use Fastmail but that probably enters into the equation too.

How would I open a support ticket?? I logged into my account and didn't see anything.? I'm sure I am missing something very obvious.? Would appreciate any info on how to open a support ticket.

You can disregard my last message.? I think I found out how to create a support ticket.? Hopefully one of us will get an answer.

Thanks,
Ann

Thanks for mentioning the post in Beta

<>

and thanks to Bruce Bowman for noticing the reports about Fastmail throttling and calling attention to it in the Beta group.

I had checked Beta before originally posting here, and saw nothing about Fastmail at that time.

I got a quick response from Fastmail on the problem and this morning everything seems to be back to normal.? Looks like a backlog of messages all came through at one time and this morning current ones are being downloaded right away.
