Woe is me !
Martin WHEELER
Can anyone help me here ?
Owner/creator of the "AvalonARC" [Amateur Radio Club] group, I've somehow managed to change my status from Owner/Moderator to simple member. Don't know how I did it (I was trying to add a new member directly, and somehow screwed up) -- how do I now re-instate myself to my previous status ? Any help/tips most welcome. Please report back on how that goes. Regards, Bruce? -- The system Help is your friend.??/static/help |

Can anyone help me here ?Martin, My first thought is that you may be logged in a on different email account and that you have multiple subscriptions to that group, the one you are currently logged in on is owner a normal member and the other account would be your owner account. Next, if you actually did change your own membership, that means that there is still another user account that has Owner/Moderator status and you will have to ask that person to put your status back. In other words, the software wouldn't let you do this to yourself in the first place if you were the only Owner of the group. ? -- Gerald |

My first thought is that you may be logged in a on different email account....which reminded me that I do, in fact, have another account on that site which I'd forgotten about, but which has now allowed me to log on as an owner, and re-instate my permissions. So all now sorted -- thanks a lot to all who replied to my plea for help. Next, if you actually did change your own membership, that means thatThat's useful information to know. Now to attempt to find out how I managed to exclude myself in the first place. -- Martin - G5FM - [IO81pd] g5fm @ martinwheeler.net |

Indeed. I knew that you would not be allowed to delete an account that was the sole Owner of a group...didn't know that the same rubric applied to downgrading your own group subscription.Next, if you actually did change your own membership, that means thatThat's useful information to know. So I learned something today. Be advised that it is still possible to leave a group Owner-less via the Account Merge function (ref: ). That has been reported to support but I have not seen any corresponding bugfix announcement. Bruce -- The system Help is your friend.??/static/help |

Interestingly, the mail I sent saying I had resolved my problem had some
extra text in the subject line following the exclamation mark -- which doesn't appear on the version put out by the list. This didn't prevent the mail from getting through -- but it's worth noting for future reference.
