?

You can delete it from the message archive. It is possible that those who get a digest or summary won't get it, but those who get single messages will have it in their mail.

As Frances didn't quite say... no it isn't. While the suggestion of deleting it from the message archive is possible, I'm not sure that that is a good idea, at least not right away.

Far better IMHO would be to "reply" to it stating that the message was sent in error and should be disregarded, and then make sure that the thread is locked immediately so that further replies, comments and so on cannot be posted. Deleting the erroneous original will not prevent any replies to it being posted as a new thread; if that happens then the confusion will spread.

Good points, Chris.?

You can also moderate or lock it after you reply.?

As Frances said, those who receive individual messages will see it no matter
what. They can't "unsee" your message once they've got it in their inbox and
read it.

If you are an owner or moderator of the group, you can delete the copy stored in
the online message archive. If you wait too long before deleting it in the
archive, it will go out to those who receive the digest message format. In a
group with plenty of daily posts, multiple digests are sent out every day, so
fast action on your part may stop it from being seen by those who get their
posts in digest format.

I usually log in and edit the original message. This corrects the message archive for those who view online. Those on digest will only see the second (edited) version. Those on individual emails will receive a second email containing the corrections.

Bruce's thoughts below make the most sense to me, as long as the group isn't set up to not allow editing posts.
