[email protected] not working for me

I have tried nearly a dozen times to get my Yahoo group:
cadxa_share1@yahoo groups.com transferred to groups.io. I put
"[email protected]" into the invitation box and send but I have never
gotten an email back. I find the instructions some what vague. I can't
figure out what I am doing wrong.

I am labeled as owner of the Yahoo group, I was a moderator but then the
owner transferred that to me.
It wasn't until I looked here that I realized the "[email protected]"
invitation had to be sent from Yahoo group.

Useful answers but no snarky suggestions are welcome.

Hi Tom

Have you clicked the green button "Start a New Transfer" and entered name of Yahoo group followed by name of the new group, etc? That is the Step 1. Inviting [email protected] is the second step and must be done after Step 1. There is clearly worded note saying this. If you just send invites without going through Step 1 it will not work.?

Good luck and 73

How long has it been since you realized the invite had to be sent from your Yahoogroup?? ? All the other attempts are meaningless.?
?
Have you checked your Yahoogroup to see if the invitation was accepted? (check your member list)
?
Once the invite has been accepted, then you need to go to the Easy Yahoo Transfer page and start the process.

I beg to differ. If you click the "Yahoo Group Instructions" button you get a list of steps that are needed. At the top you see a note in pink background that reads "NOTE: You must start the transfer process for your group?before?you send an invite to [email protected]. If you sent an invite before starting the transfer process, and [email protected] is not already a member of your group, you will need to send another invite.

Randy,
He can't do that yet since there is nobody on the Yahoo group list to make moderator if the invite has not been accepted.

I'm now about a week out from sending two invites for the last of the groups I am moving. That's a bit longer than the previous 3 groups took, but for now I assume that the process is ongoing as the Groups.io transfer page says my invite has been received and I should hear soon.

Perhaps also emphasize Yahoo on this statement there:

We will accept the invite and then send you an email directing you to make the [email protected] member a moderator *of your Yahoo group*.

Hi Prasad,
I'm feeling really dense, but where is the "Start a New Transfer" button. I started a group, and the group page does not seem to have it. I started it yesterday, so if there's a waiting period that may be it, but there was nothing I saw to indicate that.

Took me a while to find it, too. Look for the link at the BOTTOM of every group page.

I've issued the invite to [email protected] several times now an still no acknowledgement.

I tried email [email protected] but it just says 'non-deliverable'.

Could anyone help me please by sending the support my email address?and telling them I can't get through.

Most grateful if you could help me.

The irony is that I could easily create this member myself and make them a moderator, but that would be no use if they don't know my group on Yahoo exists!

Are you receiving emails from a Groups.io group but have never visited the Groups.io website? You probably don't have a password set up yet. Use the Email me a link to log in button above to log into the website.

Perhaps also emphasize Yahoo on this statement there:

I just mailed [email protected] yesterday and got the message received acknowledgement. Are you sure you used the right address?
If not sounds like there could be an issue with your isp.

Sarah,

Maybe I¡¯m misunderstanding the problem. It¡¯s not a button. ¡°Easy Group Transfer¡± is a link. Is that not what you¡¯re looking for?

Randy T

[mod note: the link at the bottom of each page takes you to a page to select Yahoo or Google group, which takes you to the Yahoo Instructions page, which has the previously mentioned green button.]

Sounds like you haven't followed the instructions. If you had then the transfer agent would know your Y!Group's name. Pay attention to the text in the red box at the top. The green box too, for that matter.

I tried email [email protected] but it just says 'non-deliverable'.

?

I don't know what the problem is there. Maybe double-check that you're not accidentally selecting an address book entry (or auto-complete) for support that has a typo in it. If that's not the problem feel free to send me (off-list) the non-delivery message that you get and I'll forward it for you.

Multiple invites have no more effect than one invite, and only fill up the queue. Have you checked out the recent messages on the topic of Y! Group transfer in this group? Recently they have indicated the delay has been up to two weeks, due to a back log. How long have you been waiting?

Hi Sarah
?
Login to groups.io account and then go all the way to the bottom of the page (any page). Click "Easy Group Transfer" button. In the next page again go all the way to the bottom and click the "Yahoo Group Instructions" button. This opens the page listing the steps you need to take in the numbered sequence. At the bottom of this page you will see the "Start a New Transfer" button.?
?
Good luck
