sticky messages only in the topic secction?

There some very important messages made sticky:

locked sticky FAQ on transferring from YahooGroups #howtoguide #transfer

By Frances ¡¤ Oct 24

And this one:
locked sticky A group for SERIOUS group owners

By Shal Farley ¡¤ 06.10.2014

In the topic section they stay on top of all. In the messages section they don?t although they don?t lose their importance and should be noticed there too.

Many people like to read messages as they come in and have the group?s functions set correspondently.

Agreed. That would be a useful improvement. Both are standalone messages - both are currently locked so no new messages can accumulate.
Something to request on Beta when things quiet down?

While I agree with you wholeheartedly the concept of a Sticky Topic only has meaning to members who use the web UI as a matter of routine. (FWIW that is my own personal preference.)

Subscribers who work mainly or exclusively by email (and anecdotal evidence points to this being the widespread preference) won't have sticky topics permanently at the top of their Inboxes; they will either slide into oblivion off the bottom or simply be deleted.

I certainly wouldn't argue against the topic being sticky in Messages view, but seriously doubt if it would greatly increase members' awareness of them, unless you have managed to get your members to work mainly or solely from the web UI. (If you did, please tell me how because I might try to copy it!)

I think it could be very useful, but maybe it isn?t feasable technically, I have no idea.

This is certainly true. And of course this would?t even be practical for important messages as the ones I cited.

Hihi! No, I regret I haven?t found the trick to do so yet but I am working on it. And as far as the inclination for reading is concerned, even if they did work mainly from the web UI, I doubt many of them even read the sticky messages. Most members don?t even read the footers which are permanently included in mail messages. Biut nontheless: I write my guides and other texts for the few ones who read, most possibly ?I am an uncurable optimist¡

I quite agree, and have suggested it in beta. It hasn't been taken up (yet).

It probably needs its own Topic to get noticed. But I agree with Frances and Mark that it should wait until the furor with Yahoo Groups dies down.

Good, this has been brought up before, but sure, all these enhancement issues can wait right now.
